Scope
1.1 This Standard applies to the measurement of vinyl chloride in air, using grab samples or integrated samples, usually collected by continuous adsorption in a sorbent tube over a period of time.
1.2 This Standard employs gas chromatography for the measurement of concentrations of vinyl chloride in air between 0.01 mg·m-3 and 2600 mg·m-3 at 25°C and 101.3 kPa.
1.3 Grab samples may be employed for vinyl chloride concentrations down to about 0.5 mg·m-3; for lower concentrations an integrated sample is required.
Note: All concentrations referred to throughout this Standard are based on standard conditions of a temperature of 25°C and an atmospheric pressure of 101.3 kPa, unless otherwise stated.
