Publication Updates and Informs
A CSA Group certification inform has been released and is associated with this standard.
Document: Technical Information Letter (TIL) Verification Service Announcement No. 68, Ref No: I14-150, Interim Energy Efficiency Certification and verification Requirements for Household Clothes Dryers. Download this TIL as a PDF now.
Scope
1.1
This Standard specifies the methods to be used for measuring the energy consumption and drum volume, and for testing the performance characteristics, of automatic household electric tumble-type clothes dryers.
1.2
This Standard describes methods for determining energy consumption with associated energy factors and specifies maximum energy consumption limits.
1.3
This Standard applies to electrically operated and electrically heated household tumble-type clothes dryers, compact and standard, designed for a 60 Hz ac supply with a nominal system voltage of 120, 120/240, or 120/208 V.
1.4
This Standard is to be considered as a measure of performance (energy consumption and drum volume) and is not intended to preclude the exercise of ingenuity in the design or improvement of clothes dryers.
1.5
The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
