Preface
This is the third edition of No. 33 of a series of Standards issued by Canadian Standards Association under Part II of the Canadian Electrical Code. It is written in SI (metric) units and supersedes the previous edition published in 1959.

This Standard was prepared under the jurisdiction of the CSA Standards Steering Committee on CE Code, Part II, and was formally approved by its Technical Committee on Industrial Products.
Scope
1.1
This Standard applies to all types of electric cranes, hoists, and monorails for voltages of 750 V and less between conductors, designed to be installed and used in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
1.2
This Standard includes the design of the collector arrangements for the contact conductors along the main runway.
Note: The installation requirements for the main collector conductors are covered in the latest edition of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
1.3
This Standard applies to equipment for general industrial and commercial application, in nonhazardous locations, both indoors and outdoors.
1.4
This Standard covers equipment for installation in a normal ambient temperature not exceeding 40°C.
