Preface
This is the second edition of CSA Standard CANKSA-S269.2, Access Scaffolding for Construction Purposes. It is written in SI (metric) units.
This Standard is the second in a series of Standards on falsework, access, and other temporary structures for construction related work. This edition has been expanded to include specific requirements for the testing and load rating of platforms other than sawn lumber. It has also been updated to comply with revisions to other applicable material Standards, such as CAN3-086-M84, Engineering Design of Wood. A number of additions to Clause 9 on the use of access scaffolding have been included to provide guidance for tradespeople and supervisors.
The revisions to the Standard were developed by the CSA Access Scaffolding Subcommittee, and have been formally approved by both the CSA Technical Committee on Scaffolding for Construction Purposes and the Standards Steering Committee on Structures (Design). This Standard has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada.
