This recall involves the Yamaha EF2000iS portable generator. The recalled generator is blue in colour and has a small suitcase type housing with a top carry handle. The affected product can be identified by the model number, EF20iSX, and a serial number ranging from 7PB-0214343 through 7PB-0215853.

Hazard identified: The fuel tank material where the fuel petcock is installed may be brittle and can cause cracks in the tank, resulting in fuel leakage, posing a fire hazard.

As of December 9th, 2019, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Number sold: Approximately 1500 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

Time period sold: The affected products were sold from July 2018 to October 2019.
