This recall involves propane H5 Series Fireplace models 1150ILP and 1150JLP with various trim. The model and serial number information is located on a card to the right hand side of the fireplace box.

Hazard identified: The use of the fireplaces over time may cause the pilot burner component to degrade resulting in a delay in the main burner ignition. The pressure from this delayed ignition may cause the glass front to break posing a laceration hazard.

As of June 16, 2020, the company has received 4 reports of delayed ignition, 2 reports of the fireplace glass shattering in Canada, and one report of glass hitting an individual’s leg. In the United States, the company has received one report of delayed ignition, no window breakage, and no reports of injuries.

Number sold: Approximately 1,053 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 374 were sold in the United States.

Time period sold: The recalled fireplaces were sold in Canada and the United States from July 2014 to March 2020.
