The Electrical Safety Authority is notifying the public that Northern Cables Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of the following product.

The issue is limited to 12/2 AC90 (black/white) cable, produced between June 4th and June 6th 2013.

The insulation on the black conductor may split when severely bent or twisted which could result in an electrical short circuit. The defect in the 12/2 AC90 was intermittent and not all product produced in this time frame was defective. The date of manufacture (D.O.M) can be found on the bottom of the cable reel tag (see below).

There have been no reported incidents or injuries.
