This recall involves the Kobalt 40V Lithium Ion 8-inch Electric Pole saw.

Hazard identified: The switch on the recalled pole saws can fail while under a heavy load, causing the unit to continue running after the user releases the trigger, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

As of August, 2020, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 50 reports of incidents, and no reports of injuries.

Number sold: The company reported that 120 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and 106,400 were sold in the United States.

Time period sold: The affected products were sold from March 2017 to November 2019.
