CSA International and Nexgrill Industries Announce A Voluntary Recall To Repair Gas Grills

In cooperation with CSA International, Nexgrill Industries of City of Industry, California is voluntarily recalling approximately 936 gas grills in Canada. If the hose connecting the propane tank with the manifold runs too close to the firebox, heat from the firebox can cause the hose to detach from the burner manifold causing a gas leak and a fire hazard.

Nexgrill Industries has received 31 incident reports including 28 fires, three hoses melting, two cases of property damage and four injuries in North America.

The recalled gas grills have the model number of 720-0025, listed on the back of the grill. The stainless steel grill is designed to be used with propane gas. The name of the grill is located at the left corner of the exterior of the main burner lid. The model number can be found on the name plate located behind the door. A temperature gauge is located at the centre of the main burner lid. The grills were sold through Costco stores in Canada from December 2003 through March 2005.

Consumers should stop using the affected grills and contact Nexgrill Customer Service to receive a free, self-installation retrofit heat shield kit.

Consumers may call Nexgrill toll-free at 1-888-361-0888, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday, or log on to the company’s website at http://nexgrill0025.serorder.com .
