CSA Group Warns of Emergency Lighting Inverters with Counterfeit CSA Group Certification Mark


CSA Group, a leading provider of testing and certification services and a standards development organization, is notifying consumers and retailers that certain Digital Signal Power Manufacturing (DSPM Inc.) brand emergency lighting inverters display counterfeit CSA Group US and Canada Certification Marks and/or file numbers.

The affected units are model “Defender Plus”, model “Cobra 3” and model “Defender 3”.  These units have not been tested and evaluated by CSA Group to the applicable standard for safety and performance for Canada or the United States.

There have been no reports of damage, fire or injury. The identified units were found in various Public Works facilities in the states of Michigan and Nevada, USA and for sale online at www.dspmanufacturing.com.

Consumers with the affected models are advised to immediately discontinue use of the product and to contact their retailer, point-of-sale or the distributor.

Name of Product: Emergency Lighting Inverter:  Model Defender Plus, Model Cobra 3 and Model Defender 3.

Manufacturer: Digital Signal Power Manufacturing Inc. (DSPM Inc.), 1921 S. Quaker Ridge Place, Ontario, CA 91761

Identification: The products display a counterfeit CSA Certification Mark and/or CSA File number 220828 on the packaging and/or on the unit label. Model “Defender 3” displays CSA File number 220828 as shown in the attached photos.
