Money raised will support Pearl S. Buck Foundation Taiwan

July 1 is the 149^th celebration of Canada Day marking Canada’s Confederation in 1867. To celebrate, CSA Group, a leading standards development organization and a global provider of testing and certification services, is sponsoring the Canada Day event “Celebration Canada” organized by the Taiwan Canadian Trade Committee.

The event is the largest foreign National Day celebration in Taiwan and is a free full-day event featuring live music, dancers and fireworks. CSA Group is selling ice-cream onsite to raise money for the Pearl S. Buck Foundation Taipei (PSBF). PSBF provides settlement programs for new immigrant families including: financial support, scholarships, language and interpretation services and career guidance.

According to statistics from the National Immigration Agency, as of 2015 new immigrants to Taiwan have now reached more than 500 thousand, with children representing more than 70 per cent of new immigrants. New immigrant populations often require settlement services, assistance with language barriers and cultural programs to help them adjust and thrive in their adopted country.
