CSA Group, an independent, not-for-profit standards development organization, and Safety Services Manitoba, today announce that Safety Services Manitoba has been chosen as a recognized service provider for occupational health and safety training programs developed by the CSA Group Learning Institute.

The official recognition of Safety Services Manitoba as a CSA Group service provider will improve the reach of CSA Group standards-based occupational health and safety training to Manitobans. The initiative will help manufacturing, processing, distribution and construction sectors stay current on a range of occupational health and safety issues facing their industries.

“Safety Services Manitoba is looking forward to working with CSA Group and providing Manitoba companies with improved access to their recognized education platform,” said Judy Murphy, SSM’s President and CEO. “This initiative will give us the opportunity to expand our service offerings to our clients and the Occupational Health and Safety industry in training areas that we haven’t previously offered.”

As the province’s only not-for-profit safety service provider, Safety Services Manitoba (SSM) has been preventing loss and protecting people since 1964, by specializing in occupational and road safety training.

“This initiative demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing learning solutions that address the needs of industry at large, as well as the specific needs of Safety Services Manitoba, their clients and their stakeholders,” said Bob Main, Director of CSA Group’s Health and Safety Standards program.

CSA Group’s Learning Institute helps organizations and their employees advance their knowledge of standards, codes and management systems, helping them apply and recognize the value of standards within their operations. Standards-based training also helps demonstrate due diligence in demonstrating compliance to regulatory requirements. Its primary objective is to help ensure the safety and security of workers and the general public across a wide range of industries and environments.
