US/CANADA (FCC/ISED) CERTIFICATION FOR HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES
The application for FCC/ISED certification of household appliances needs to conform to its certification standards and procedures.
Exemption for household appliances:
Part of household appliances can be exempted from certification according to the requirements of standard FCC Part 15. The requirements of products that can be exempted from certification are as follows:
- Products with internal working frequency or generated working frequency ≤ 9 kHz are not defined as digital products and are exempt from the requirements of FCC Part 15.
- According to the requirements of FCC Part 15.103(h), equipment with working frequency ＜705 MHz and powered by battery can be exempted from the requirements of FCC Part 15.
- According to the requirements of FCC Part 15.103 (d), the digital circuits used in some household appliances can be exempted from the requirements of FCC Part 15. At the same time, this clause is extended to KDB 772105 for further explanation.
Label requirements for household appliances:
According to the requirement of KDB 89681, the qualified household appliances evaluated by SDoC process can be labeled with FCC Logo voluntarily. Exempted household appliances cannot be labeled with FCC Logo. Exempted household appliances can be labeled with FCC logo voluntarily only after they have passed the evaluation of SDoC. At the same time, the labels or instructions of household appliances need the following declarations of meeting the requirements of part 15. Exempted household appliances products cannot use following declarations of conformity unless they meet the requirements of SDoC.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
- This device may not cause harmful interference, and
- This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
SDoC: The supplier declares their products conform to the standards of FCC/ISED. The declaration is not arbitrary. It can be made only after the products meet the limit requirements, and the labels, user manuals, importers and technical materials of the product meet the requirements of the SDoC.
FCC ID: Product testing needs to be carried out in a laboratory accredited by FCC. The certificates are issued after TCB finishing the verification of the submitted reports and technical documents.
ISED ID: For certification of wireless products in Canada, testing needs to be carried out in ISED-accredited laboratories, and the certificates are issued after Certification Body (CB) finishing the verification of the submitted reports and technical documents.
