Tunisia (CERT) – Encryption and Certificates with Indefinite Validity
Effective February 6, 2020
The Research and Studies Telecommunications Centre (CERT) has released Governmental Decree No. 48 of 2020.
The Decree has two major impacts on the type approval process in Tunisia.
- CERT will take over regulatory authority of Encryption Approvals, previously regulated by ANCE and issued a single certificate covering RF/Telecom and Encryption
- CERT will be issuing certificates with indefinite validity (prior certificates were issued with 3 year validity periods)
- Already issued type approvals with a limitation of three years remain valid until their expiry dates. The manufacturers are obliged to apply for a renewal certificate for these approvals in case the devices will further be imported into Tunisia.
