Electrotechnical products marketed in the EAEU must undergo conformity assurance procedures before March 1, 2020 to prove their compliance with EAEU Technical Regulation 037/2016 on the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrotechnical and Radio-electronic Product.
This Technical Regulation restricts the content of six substances (lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers) in electrotechnical and electronic products. Generally, the concentration of cadmium may not exceed 0.01 per cent by weight in homogeneous materials used in electrotechnical and radio-electronic products. The other five substances must not exceed 0.1 wt%.
