On April 30, 2021, Costa Rica SUTEL announced the changes on the operational conditions for unlicensed bands.

The key changes are the extension of the unlicensed range for the 900 MHz band, the definition of the segment from 5925 MHz to 7125 MHz for unlicensed use, and the change of the operating conditions for radar systems on the 76 GHz to 81 GHz band.

The devices must follow the homologation process for equipment operating in unlicensed bands, which is defined in resolution RCS-154-2018.
