Ministry of the People’s Republic of China revised the “Telecom Business Classification Catalogue (2015 Edition)” to add sub-category “A12-4 Fifth Generation Digital Cellular Mobile Communication Service” under the category A “Basic Telecommunications Service”, “A12 Cellular Mobile Communication Service”.

The 5G Catalogue is described as “The fifth-generation digital cellular mobile communication service refers to the services of voice, data, multimedia communication, etc. provided by the fifth-generation digital cellular mobile communication network.”

China 5G product certification status:

• SRRC: Type approval application for 5G products has been formally accepted.
• NAL: 5G products have been added to the catalogue, and have been accepted for the network

access license certification.

• CCC: Certification body can accept 5G application. The product name can be marked as supporting

5G functions such as 5G number Word mobile phone, 5G wireless data terminal. However, EMC tests only cover 4G standard as currently EMC test standards for 5G products have not been published yet.

CHINA (SAMR) LATEST NEW FOR RoHS

Effective November 1, 2019

China State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) published an announcement in May 17th stating that from November 1, 2019, the products listed in the “Management Catalogue for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products (First Batch)” shall meet the requirements of the “Implementation Rule for the Conformity Assessment for Restricted Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products”.

According to the implementation rule, manufacturer shall select either voluntary certification or self-declaration to conduct conformity assessment of the restricted use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products.
