Brazil ANATEL published the Act Nº 5205 related to guideline of Declaration of Conformity (DoC) with ANATEL Brand. The DoC procedure is similar to the regular certification, but the applicant (local rep) can apply the procedure directly with ANATEL without requiring the Designated Certification Body (OCD is optional for the DoC procedure).

The requirements are basically the same requiring the representative letter, manual, internal and external pictures, factory ISO and testing report (overseas ILAC testing report is acceptable). The CoC certificate will be replaced by a DoC declaration. Applicant will submit the files to ANATEL.

The DoC with ANATEL Brand is applicable only for a few types of equipment according to Act Nº 7280, such as Fiber Optic Connector, Connector for Coaxial Cable, xDSL Filter – Switch Splitter, Aerial Optical Terminal Box, Underground Optical Terminal Box, Underground Optical Terminal Box for Residential Areas and Small Commercial Buildings etc.

This DoC procedure does not require the certificate renewal. The certificate is valid for lifetime.
