Preface

This Standard is one of a series of CSA Standards covering protective packaging. It has been developed with the purpose of furthering the standardization of certain sizes of steel drums built to the requirements of the Board of Transport Commissioners for Canada, and other regulatory bodies.

SCOPE

This Standard covers the following types of steel drums:

(a) 46-Imperial Gallon, BTC Specification 17E, lS-Gauge Tight-Head Drum;
(b) 13.5-Imperial Gallon or 120-Pound Non-returnable Lug-Cover Drum for Petroleum Greases and Gear Oils;
(c) 5-Imperial Gallon, BTC Specification 37A, 26-Gauge, Lug-Cover Drum;
(d) 25-Imperial Gallon, BTC Specification 17E, 19-Gauge Tight-Head Drum;
(e) 10-Imperial Gallon, BTC Specification 17E, 20-Gauge Tight-Head Drum;
(f) 46-Imperial Gallon, BTC Specification 5B, 16-Gauge Tight-Head Drum.
