CSA Preface
This is the first edition of CAN/CSA-ISO/TS 11139, Sterilization of health care products — Vocabulary, which is an adoption without modification of the identically titled ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Technical Specification 11139 (second edition, 2006-01-15).
Scope
This Technical Specification gives definitions of terms in the field of sterilization technology.
This Technical Specification does not provide requirements for the validation and routine control of a sterilization process, but is intended to contribute fundamentally towards mutual understanding amongst those preparing and using International Standards in the field of sterilization technology.

Préface CSA
Ce document constitue la première édition de CAN/CSA-ISO/TS 11139, Stérilisation des produits de santé — Vocabulaire. Il s’agit de l’adoption, sans modifications, de la Spécification technique ISO (Organisation internationale de normalisation) 11139 (deuxième édition, 2006-01-15), qui porte le même titre.
Domaine d'application
La présente Spécification technique définit des termes dans le domaine des techniques de stérilisation.
Elle ne spécifie pas d'exigences relatives à la validation et au contrôle de routine d'un procédé de stérilisation, mais son but est d'apporter une contribution fondamentale au développement d'une compréhension mutuelle entre les personnes qui préparent les Normes internationales et celles qui les utilisent dans le domaine des technologies de stérilisation.
