Preface
This new Standard No. 30 forms part of a series of Standards issued by the Canadian Standards Association under Part II of the Canadian Electrical Code. This Standard supersedes CSA Standard C130—1963, Explosionproof Enclosures for Electrical Equipment.
This Standard was prepared under the jurisdiction of the Committee on CE Code, Part II, which is subsidiary to the Committee on CE Code, Part I, and was formally approved by these Committees.
Scope
1.1
This Standard covers the details of construction and test for explosionproof enclosures for electrical equipment to be used in Class I, Groups A, B, C and D hazardous locations in accordance with the rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1.
1.2
This Standard does not apply to lighting fixtures, motors, or generators.
