Scope
1.1
This Standard applies to pressure-retaining components and their supports of CANDU nuclear power plants that have a Code Classification of Class 1C, 2C, or 3C as defined by CSA Standard N285.0.
1.2
This Standard provides rules that complement those in CSA Standard N285.0 for the design, fabrication, installation, examination, and inspection of CANDU nuclear power plant components and supports.
1.3
This Standard provides rules intended to ensure the pressure-retaining integrity of components. Its rules do not address o perability. Other design requirements are specified in the appropriate contractual documents.
1.4
This Standard provides rules for the support of fuelling machines.
1.5
This Standard applies only to new construction completed prior to the plant being declared in-service. Repairs or modifications to be made after the plant has been declared in-service should be carried out in accordance with CSA Standard N285.0.
1.6
This Standard does not provide requirements for temporary loads, such as those generated by freeze plugs or other devices used during maintenance operations.
1.7
The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
