CSA Group, a leading global testing and certification organization, and the Korea Institute of Medical Device Assessment (KIMDA), a prominent institution for medical devices safety in Korea, announce a new alliance that enables both organization to further expand one-stop medical devices testing and certification services for localized manufacturers and provide more cost effective and time saving services for the Korean market.

Through the alliance, KIMDA, with its large customer base in Korea and advanced testing facilities, will test a wide range of medical products to the applicable U.S and Canadian standards to support the growing demand of Korean medical products in North American markets. Qualified Korean manufacturers wishing to export to North American markets can gain globally recognized CSA certification based upon testing carried out locally at a KIMDA laboratory. This will benefit existing and potential CSA Group and KIMDA customers by reducing travel time and costs associated with testing samples, by shortening turnaround time of reports; and providing a streamlined process for testing and certification to earning the CSA mark.

The CSA Group Korea office, located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, is fully staffed with highly qualified engineers who strive to provide efficient and cost effective local testing and certification services. The partnership with KIMDA further expands the coverage of CSA Group’s one-stop medical devices testing and certification services and better positioned CSA Group Korea to meet the growing needs of clients seeking local services while accessing the global marketplace.

A signing ceremony of the alliance was held in Korea today.
