COVERAGE:

Motor controllers other than manual or magnetic type, open- and enclosed-types,
including speed controllers, limit switches, pressure- or vacuum-operated
devices, air flow and float actuated devices and solid state control assemblies
rated in horsepower or full load and locked rotor amperes.

This category does not cover motor control centres (MCCs) and their related
sub-assemblies. See Class 3214 xx series for MCC equipment.

This category does not cover adjustable speed drives. See Class 3211 16 for
this type of equipment.

Note: Open type devices are certified only for use in complete assemblies
where the suitability of the combination is subject to further investigation.

  • submittor's identification;
  •  model designation or equivalent;
  •  complete electrical rating;
  •  enclosure designation "CSA Type 2 (or 3, or 3R, etc.) where
    applicable;
  •  pollution degree and overvoltage category (for adjustable drives
    designed to operate in a specific pollution degree and overvoltage category
    environment only)
  •  additional markings as may be required;
  •  CSA Mark.
