Acid gas emissions from burning cables are an important public health concern worldwide. The toxicity and corrosive nature of acid gases that result from burning cables can increase the risk of injury or death, and cause extensive damage to electrical and electronic equipment. This research project looked at different approaches to wire and cable testing to identify and better understand the different factors that may affect results and reduce the variability of results between laboratories.
