CSA Z662 – Oil & gas pipeline systems, is a National Standard that covers the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of oil & gas industry pipeline systems. The Technical Committee for CSA Z662 supported a research project to develop a set of pipeline safety factors that achieve known, acceptable, and consistent public safety and environmental protection levels for all pipelines and service fluids addressed in the standard. This executive summary explores the work to date as part of the first phase of the project.
