1. Describe your CSA Group career journey.
   

   Since joining CSA Group in 2014 following completion of my master’s degree, I’ve had countless opportunities for learning and development. I began my career at CSA Group as a Field Service Representative (FSR) where I conducted factory inspections across Europe. From the outset, it was very clear to me that training was a top priority at CSA Group. I joined a group of fellow FSRs for two weeks of classroom training, where we learned the foundations of CSA Group’s approach to testing, inspection and certification. This role was one of my most memorable, as it gave me the opportunity to travel the world, experience new cultures and strengthen my understanding of the industry.

   With the support and encouragement of my manager, I took on a new opportunity in 2019 as a Certifier. In this role, I am focused on testing and certifying the safety of medical devices and equipment. It’s a challenging and rewarding role and I continue to learn every day. Beyond the formal roles I’ve held, I’ve been fortunate to be trusted with many unofficial roles along the way from acting as a mentor to new FSR team members to serving as the leader of our Green Team in Europe. That’s one of the things I love about CSA Group – if you put your hand up and you are open to new challenges, anything is possible!

2. What is a typical day at work like for you?
   

   Establishing and maintaining relationships with my colleagues is important to me, so I usually begin each day by greeting my colleagues on the lab floor before beginning my day. Then, the first order of business is to scan my emails, addressing any time sensitive matters immediately before jumping into testing, preparation of test results, documentation, and development of certification documents. CSA Group often offers trainings through CSA Academy on a variety of topics (some very technical and some focused on other areas of the business), which I try to attend when I can.

3. What is the most rewarding aspect of your role at CSA Group?
   

   Knowing that I’m personally contributing to the organization’s mission to make the world safer and more sustainable brings me great satisfaction. I am now more vigilant and aware of safety in all aspects of my life, and I like to educate my friends about the importance of product safety whenever I can. Additionally, CSA Group’s focus on continuous learning and development has contributed not only to my success, but to my continued level of interest and engagement. It’s a great organization for goal-oriented young professionals.

4. If you could describe working at CSA Group in one word, what would it be? Why?
   

   Inclusive. CSA Group creates a safe environment that is empowering, where diverse backgrounds and cultures are valued. I have always been encouraged to share my ideas and views.
