Based in CSA Group’s new European headquarters in Platting, Germany, Romana Rahofer joined CSA Group in 2020 impressed by the organization’s global footprint and the opportunity to make a difference. Today, Romana leads marketing efforts for CSA Group’s thriving EMEA region, with a focus on developing creative ways to communicate CSA Group’s unique value proposition to new and existing customers.

  1. Describe your professional background and your role at CSA Group

    I have been working in marketing for the past decade, holding multiple roles that helped me gain insight into different aspects of the profession. In 2019, I made the decision to move to Germany from Austria, which put me on the hunt for a new position. With a variety of experiences under my belt, I had a very firm idea of what I was looking for in my next role. My wish list included working for a global organization, the opportunity for travel, interesting projects and subject matter, freedom to shape my role, and a hands-on position. When I came across the CSA Group and the marketing job description, I was immediately interested. I joined CSA Group in February 2020 as Marketing Manager for the EMEA region.

  2. What is a typical day at work like for you?

    I like to start my day reviewing emails as I often receive emails and requests from my colleagues around the world overnight. This reflects how interlinked our marketing team is. Daily, I work closely with the global marketing team and the subject matter experts across the organization to plan and execute marketing campaigns to promote and highlight CSA Group’s various services targeting new and existing customers. I also work closely with our teams across Europe on local initiatives like events and activities to attract and recruit across the region. Marketing planning and strategy is also an important part of my job. Annually, I work with our global teams to develop a regional marketing strategy and plan that all of our campaigns and initiatives stem from.

  3. What is the most rewarding aspect of your role at CSA Group?

    Our marketing team is small yet mighty, which means that my work has a direct impact on the success of our business. Empowered by our leadership team, we are provided the opportunity to test and learn new marketing tools and approaches. This is very rewarding as I feel that I have a unique opportunity to shape the future of marketing at CSA Group.

  4. If you could describe working at CSA Group in one word, what would it be? Why?

    Diverse.
    Every day is different. I’m never bored. CSA Group, and the testing, inspection and certification industry in general, is multi-faceted which presents endless opportunities for creativity and a culture of continuous learning.

    Also, the diversity within CSA Group makes day-to-day business very interesting. It’s such a pleasure to collaborate with colleagues from all over the world and to learn more about them, their country and their cultures. This diversity and the openminded nature of people at CSA Group contributes to a very respectful and pleasant working environment.

    I enjoy working at CSA Group because of our mission and the important role that we play in helping to keep people around the world safe. The friendly people and flat organizational structure also inspires and empowers me to be my best, every day.
