Like many other sectors and industries, the way that standards are used and purchased has changed. Creating an effortless digital experience for our customers is a key priority for CSA Group’s Standards Commercial Services team. An expert in digital technologies, and a self-proclaimed lifelong learner, Nadia Canales is fearlessly transforming CSA Group’s commercial platforms and applications for a digital-first future.

  1. Describe your CSA Group career journey.

    I joined CSA Group in 2017 after many years of working with a large academic publisher where I was mostly focused on product management and software development. My first role at CSA Group was as a Product Portfolio Manager on the Standards Commercial Services team where I was responsible for leading the development and implementation of the CSA Store and standards subscription platform. In 2019, I was promoted to Manager, Digital Solutions overseeing the planning, roadmap and development of CSA Group’s commercial platforms and applications. Today, I lead a team focused on leveraging technology to enable access to, and usability of, standards for customers.

  2. What is a typical day at work like for you?

    My role is very collaborative, so much of my day is spent in meetings where I’m focused on learning about the many Standards projects underway. When I’m not in meetings, I’m usually planning or researching industry trends and the needs of North America’s changing workforce.

  3. What is the most rewarding aspect of your role at CSA Group?

    I feel fortunate to be in position where I’m always encouraged to learn, experiment and innovate with new technologies. Like most industries, the way our customers consume standards has significantly evolved and the possibilities seem endless. I’m always learning something new which keeps things fun and challenging.

  4. If you could describe working at CSA Group in one word, what would it be? Why?

    Progressive. CSA Group is a forward-thinking organization that is growing, innovating and always open to new ways of doing things. The culture at CSA Group is a collaborative, connected one where employees are valued.
