CSA Group Alerts Consumers and Retailers the OxGear Safety Boots Do Not Meet Canadian Standards

CSA Group, a leading global provider of product testing and certification services and standards development, is notifying consumers, regulators and retailers that safety boots made by Jiayi Shoes & Plastic Co. Ltd are not certified and may pose a safety risk.

CSA Group conducted an independent investigation and determined that boots manufactured by Jiayi Shoes & Plastic Co. Ltd were not certified by CSA Group and do not meet the CSA standard. The affected boots are tan leather 8-inch (20-centimetre) OxGear Safety Work Boots, model number 66000.The boots display an unauthorized CSA mark and file number: 265396 on the tongue of the boot.

Consumers are encouraged to check the Recall and Safety Alerts Database on the Healthy Canadians website for product recall alerts issued by Health Canada and follow the directions for all products under a recall notice.

CSA Group takes the misuse of its marks very seriously. Anyone with a safety concern about a CSA Group certified product is urged to send the details to:[email protected].
