CSA Group Warns of Non Child-Resistant Squeezable Medicine Vials Advertised with Unauthorized CSA Group Certification Mark

Toronto,

CSA Group, a leading product testing and certification organization, is notifying consumer, retailers and distributors of squeezable non-child resistant medicine vials that have been identified in the Canadian and U.S markets.  These vials are being advertised in association with CSA Group certification when no CSA Group certification contract exists.

These vials are hazardous due to the single motion squeeze which does not meet CSA child-resistant packaging certification requirements.  The material composites of these vials are also unknown and may interact with medications these are used in association with.

Consumers with the affected models are advised to contact their retailer, point-of-sale or the distributor.

Manufacturers: unknown at this time

Models: all sizes and colors are unknown at this time

Identification: The products display an unauthorized CSA Certification mark on the bottom of the vial and a “Squeeze sides” indicator on the lid as shown in the attached photos. Note: There may be variations of the vial size and color.
