CSA International, Mandolyn Electronic Technology Inc. and UPM Marketing Inc. Announce Voluntary Recall of Electronic Thermostats Models THM211 and THM311

In co-operation with CSA International, Mandolyn Electronic Technology Inc., and UPM Marketing Inc., of Calgary, AB. announced a voluntary recall of about 6,000 electronic thermostats.

A number of these units were produced with a different housing material which may in certain circumstances support combustion. No incidents of fire have been reported.

As a precautionary measure in the interest of public safety, UPM Marketing Inc. has chosen to recall all thermostats models THM311 and THM211 sold between September 1, 2002 and October 2, 2002. The affected thermostats will be labelled with a serial number beginning with the number sequence 0207. If the unit’s serial number begins with the 0207 sequence, the unit should be returned.

Consumers having these thermostats should stop using the thermostats immediately, disconnect the thermostats and return the units to their origin of purchase to receive a replacement product, or consumers may call 1-888-go-to-upm (1-888-468-6876).
