CSA International, in cooperation with Advanced Timer Technologies Ltd., of Kowloon, Hong Kong announces a voluntary recall of Nordik Electronic Thermostats, Model TH611. The affected electronic thermostats were produced prior to receiving CSA certification and bear an unauthorized CSA International certification mark. In addition, the affected electronic thermostats were manufactured with substandard enclosure material.

No incidents or injuries have been reported to date related to the affected electronic thermostats.

This recall involved electronic thermostats Models TH611 rated at 240VAC 50/60HZ, Minimum load: 500W/2A (Resistive only), Maximum Load : 3500W/14.6A (Resistive only). The affected units are sold under the brand names Nordik and bear the CSA mark with the file number MC# 218077. The model number and date code are printed on the name plate located on the back of the thermostat. This recall affected the units having the date code 2007-08.

Owners of the subject thermostat are advised to stop using them immediately and are requested to return them to the point of purchase.
