Overview

Viessmann Manufacturing Company Inc. recalls Viessmann Vitodens 200-W boiler models B2HB-45 and B2HB-57

This recall involves Vitodens 200-W gas fired boiler models used for space or domestic hot water heating. The product name and model number can be found on the boiler rating plate located on the left side of the boiler cover, while the serial number can be found on a separate label under the boiler cover on the left hand side of the boiler.

The flue gas baffle used inside the heat exchanger assembly may become dislodged due to a mechanical fastener slipping, causing higher than normal flue gas temperatures to enter the flue gas collector and the venting system resulting in the F1 fault. The venting system may melt and cause the flue gases to escape into the house posing a risk of fire and increased carbon monoxide levels.

Health Canada has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these boilers.

Viessmann Manufacturing has received 10 reports of incidents involving the boilers. Seven of these have been reported from Canada. No injuries have been reported in any of the incidents.
