Concussions are a major issue in the sport of ice hockey, and existing safety standards are limited in their effectiveness against concussions. In an effort to develop a testing protocol to help limit head rotation in ice hockey, CSA Group has sponsored a major research undertaking in which a range of head impacts associated with concussive injuries in the game were examined. This executive summary discusses our methodology and details the observations we uncovered in the process.
